Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Benin Zonal Directorate, have arrested one Osagie Destiny Etinosa for alleged fraud involving N11 million.
The suspect was apprehended following intelligence gathered from open sources, where he allegedly presented himself on Instagram under the handle @officialking_etto as a football agent facilitating trials and transfers for players to foreign clubs.
According to the EFCC, Etinosa allegedly obtained N11 million from one Samuel Beke Ohazuruike with a promise to secure football trials in Romania and Bulgaria, a commitment that was not fulfilled. Repeated efforts by the victim to recover the funds reportedly proved unsuccessful.
The Commission stated that the suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
