EFCC nabs EmaDeb station manager over alleged N500m diversion in Kaduna

The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Abdulazeez Gbadebo, a station manager with Emadeb Energy Service Limited, for alleged criminal breach of trust and diversion of N500 million.

Gbadebo’s arrest followed a petition by Emadeb Energy Service Limited, which alleged that an external audit uncovered the illegal diversion and sale of bulk petroleum products. The audit reportedly revealed that the suspect manipulated pump meters, diverted proceeds amounting to N500 million, and transferred the funds into his personal bank accounts.

EFCC investigations showed that Gbadebo sold bulk petrol and diesel directly to individuals while collecting payments through his private accounts.

Recovered from him were several high-value assets, including an ash-coloured Mercedes Benz, three mini coopers, a white Mercedes Benz GLK, landed properties, a certificate of occupancy, and a fully detached three-bedroom bungalow.

The anti-graft agency stated that the suspect would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
