Operatives from the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 14 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Makurdi, Benue State, on August 10, 2023.
The detained individuals are as follows: Solomon Oloche, Innocent Ochola, Aselo Kendra Wisdom, Simon Jeff, Innocent Raphael, Akula Kelvin, Emmanuel Okanche, Francis Chikodirie, Atoo Michael, Ochayi Nelson, Ngutor Paul, Michael Tyobe, Samuel Okanche, and Patience Tseaa. Their arrests were the outcome of a comprehensive surveillance operation, driven by intelligence regarding their alleged involvement in illicit activities.
Numerous items were seized from the suspects, including a Toyota Camry vehicle, 14 iPhones, 11 Android smartphones, 6 laptop computers, an assortment of ATM cards, a flash drive, an MTN router, a Tus bike, and an array of incriminating documents.
The apprehended individuals have already provided valuable statements, and their cases will be presented in court once the investigative procedures reach completion.
