The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has inaugurated a housing estate comprising 7,000 units to commemorate its 50th anniversary, in alignment with the federal government’s commitment to offering affordable housing solutions.
Named the Golden Jubilee Mbora Estate, this initiative is a collaborative effort between the FHA and Nuga Best International and Regis International Services Partnership. The inaugural phase involves the construction of 1,200 housing units in Lugbe Phase 11.
During the groundbreaking event held on Thursday, Senator Gbenga Ashafa highlighted that this marks a new chapter after five decades of dedicated service. He commended the previous management’s accomplishments, showcasing the FHA as a high-performing agency.
Senator Ashafa emphasized that this ceremony embodies President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s housing-for-all policy and also coincides with the current administration’s 100-day milestone. He applauded the FHA’s achievements, including the 748-unit Zuba Housing Estate in Bwari and the development of the Smart City/Diaspora Estate in Maitama, Abuja.
Reiterating his commitment to the agency’s core mission, Senator Ashafa pledged to contribute to the nation’s socio-economic growth. He expressed confidence in the capabilities of the partners, citing their proven track record in constructing an initial 1,200-unit estate.
The Managing Director reiterated the FHA’s primary goal of providing housing for all Nigerians, leveraging the construction sector’s potential to spur employment opportunities and foster economic diversification. The 200-hectare land earmarked for the estate will feature comprehensive infrastructure, including access roads and robust security measures.
The event’s highlights included the groundbreaking ceremony led by Senator Gbenga Ashafa, the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Housing Authority.
