Eid-el-Kabir: Buni pledges more support for security, agriculture, infrastructure

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to bolstering security, agriculture, and infrastructure.

In a message to mark the festival, Buni urged Muslims to uphold the values of sacrifice, charity, and love associated with Eid, and to extend these virtues to all, regardless of political, religious, or cultural differences.

He highlighted the festival as an opportunity for both residents at home and pilgrims in Saudi Arabia to offer prayers for the security, stability, and prosperity of Yobe State and Nigeria.

Looking ahead, the governor assured that over the next two years, his government will intensify efforts to strengthen security and advance agricultural and infrastructural development. He encouraged farmers to leverage the rainy season for increased food production to ensure food security and economic growth.

Buni also urged communities in flood-prone areas to heed safety advice from relevant authorities during the rainy season to avoid disasters.

He praised the resilience and cooperation of Yobe’s people in supporting government initiatives, dedicating his administration’s achievements to their unwavering support.

“I wish to dedicate the successes of this administration to your generous support and understanding. Together, we shall achieve more to improve the lives of our people,” he stated.

The governor commended the Nigerian Army, security agencies, vigilante groups, and hunters for their commitment to maintaining peace and security. He called on residents to provide timely and credible information to security agencies to enhance proactive measures in combating insecurity.

Buni concluded by wishing the people of Yobe and Nigeria a peaceful and joyful Sallah celebration. He also urged parents to remain vigilant and warned motorists to avoid reckless driving during the festivities.
