Eurocham Nigeria hosts 2025 conference on growth in post-reform economy

European businesses, diplomats, and Nigerian policymakers convened in Lagos for Eurocham Nigeria’s 2025 Annual Stakeholder Conference, exploring the impact of economic reforms on business and investment.

Themed “Achieving Growth Post-Reforms,” the conference addressed key sectors including trade, energy, finance, workforce transformation, and aviation, highlighting collaboration opportunities between the public and private sectors.

Eurocham Nigeria President, Mr. Yann Gilbert, emphasized the chamber’s role in advocating for policies that foster economic growth and enhance EU-Nigeria business relations. EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Mr. Gautier Mignot, reiterated the EU’s commitment to Nigeria’s economic transformation and introduced the EU-Eurocham Support Grant to drive private-sector growth.

In a keynote speech delivered on behalf of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), Special Adviser Ms. Janet Oputa outlined aviation sector reforms aimed at boosting infrastructure and investment.

A presentation by Ms. Danelee Masia, Director Economist at Deutsche Bank, provided a macroeconomic outlook on Nigeria’s recovery, focusing on fiscal reforms, foreign exchange policies, and investment trends. Other speakers, including Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, Director General of PEBEC, and Mr. Olufemi Modupe Awoyemi, Founder of Proshare Limited, discussed business policy reforms and financial sector opportunities.

A panel discussion, moderated by Ifeoma Finnih, examined strategies for businesses navigating Nigeria’s evolving economic landscape, with insights on regulatory shifts, investment incentives, and sustainable economic stability.

Eurocham Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening EU-Nigeria business relations, supporting pro-business policies, and driving initiatives for long-term economic growth.
