FCT police refute misreported death of retired immigration chief

The FCT Police Command has issued a clarification regarding the death of retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, refuting claims that he was kidnapped and killed.

In a statement Police Public Relations Officer FCT Police Command, Abuja SP Josephine Adeh said on March 3, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, Mr. Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He paid N22, 000 for a one-night stay. Shortly after, he instructed the hotel room attendant to escort a female visitor to his room. The woman left the hotel premises at about 4:00 PM the same day.

Mr. Parradang did not leave his room after the lady’s departure. Around 4:00 AM on March 4, 2025, a concerned friend, a military officer, traced him to the hotel. Upon arrival, the officer and hotel staff entered his room and found Mr. Parradang deceased, seated in a chair.

The Durumi Police Station was immediately notified. Officers arrived at the scene, secured the area, documented evidence, and transported the body to the National Hospital for further examination. The hotel staff are cooperating with the ongoing investigation, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the female visitor.

The FCT Police urge the public and media to refrain from spreading unverified claims, including allegations of kidnapping, which may cause unnecessary panic. Authorities remain committed to conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Parradang’s death.
