Fire destroys food market at Trademore complex Abuja, no casualties reported

A fire broke out in the early hours of this morning at the Trademore Complex in Lugbe, resulting in extensive damage to the estate’s food market and the loss of goods valued at millions of naira.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) received a distress call at approximately 4:50 a.m. and promptly activated its Abuja Operations Office. In coordination with the Nigeria Police, Federal Fire Service, and other relevant agencies, emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene.

Their timely intervention successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby residential buildings. No casualties were reported.

The Federal Fire Service has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze. In the meantime, authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any fire hazards to mitigate future incidents.
