The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has approved a strategic redeployment of senior officers of the Corps as part of efforts to strengthen operational efficiency, enhance institutional coordination, and reposition the organisation for improved service delivery.
According to a statement signed by Assistant Corps Commander Agboola Olundegun of the Corps Public Education Office at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja, the redeployments, announced in a statement issued by the Corps Public Education Office, are aimed at reinforcing the Corps’ operational structure and ensuring effective execution of its statutory mandate of promoting road safety across Nigeria.
As part of the new postings, former Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, has been appointed Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of Operations at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja. In his new role, he will oversee the Corps’ critical operational arm responsible for nationwide enforcement coordination and strategic field operations.
Ogungbemide, a member of the National Institute (mni), previously served as Sector Commander in Lagos State and brings extensive operational experience to his new assignment.
In a related development, Corps Commander Felicia Kalu has been elevated to serve as Acting Corps Public Education Officer. Formerly the Deputy Corps Public Education Officer, Kalu will now oversee the Corps’ public communication, media relations, and nationwide road safety advocacy campaigns.
Other changes include the redeployment of Corps Commander Maxwell Kaltungo Lede, who moves from Sector Commander of the FRSC RS13 Katsina Sector Command to assume duties as Corps Intelligence Officer at the national headquarters.
Similarly, Corps Commander HA Ibrahim has been posted from his position as Corps Commander, Manpower, at the Federal Road Safety Corps Academy to take over as Sector Commander of the RS13 Katsina Sector Command.
In another redeployment, Corps Commander HA Ogundayo has been moved from Corps Commander, National Traffic Radio, under the Corps Public Education Office at the national headquarters to serve as Corps Commander (National Traffic Radio) in the Corps Marshal’s Office.
Meanwhile, Deputy Corps Commander OJ Ohaeri has been redeployed from his role as Deputy Corps Commander (Marshal Inspector) in the Administration and Human Resources Department at the Road Safety Headquarters to serve as Deputy Corps Public Education Officer.
The Corps Marshal said the postings form part of ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the Corps for greater professionalism, efficiency, and improved service delivery across all formations.
He urged the affected officers to deploy their wealth of experience and demonstrate renewed commitment in their new assignments.
The FRSC reiterated its commitment to creating safer roads across Nigeria through strengthened operations, intelligence-driven enforcement, strategic public education, and sustained collaboration with stakeholders.
