The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Malam Shehu Mohammed, has expressed his condolences to the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, following the tragic death of the state’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ahmad Jalam, in a severe road accident on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
According to Acting Corps Public Education Officer, FRSC National Headquarters Abuja, Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide said the Corps Marshal expressed deep sorrow over the incident, describing it as unfortunate. He emphasized the need to intensify the FRSC’s road safety campaign to prevent such tragedies in the future. “The unfortunate incident is a sad reminder of the necessity for us at the Federal Road Safety Corps to increase the tempo of our campaign on the nation’s highways, which the Corps is committed to doing,” he stated.
Praying for the repose of the deceased’s soul, the Corps Marshal urged the Governor and the people of Bauchi State to find the strength to endure this great and irreparable loss. “We pray for Allah’s forgiveness for his shortcomings and that he be granted Aljanah Firdaus,” he added.
He reiterated the FRSC’s commitment to addressing the issue of road traffic crashes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders at various levels.
