FRSC recovers 73 stolen vehicles in 2024 via NVIS portal

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recovered 73 stolen vehicles in 2024 through the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) Portal, dealing a significant blow to car theft and criminal activities across Nigeria.

In a statement, Corps Public Education Officer Federal Road Safety Corps Headquarters, Abuja Olusegun Ogungbemide said  the recoveries were made during intelligence-driven operations in collaboration with other security agencies at vehicle registration points. The recovered vehicles include 21 Toyota Corollas, 17 Toyota Camrys, six Toyota Siennas, six Lexus 350s, and various other brands, demonstrating the effectiveness of the NVIS system in tracking stolen automobiles.

FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed commended the personnel for their dedication, emphasizing the Corps’ commitment to national security and road safety. He urged vehicle owners to provide accurate information during registration to enhance intelligence gathering and improve recovery efforts.

The FRSC reaffirmed its resolve to ensure safer roads and called on the public to support its mission of security and accident prevention.
