The Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State, on Monday matriculated 1,000 students under the undergraduate scholarship programme sponsored by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, CFR, FCNA.
According to Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Office of the Deputy President of the Senate Ismail Mudashir, the event, held at the university’s campus in Dutsin-Ma, was attended by dignitaries including the Managing Director of the North West Development Commission (NWDC), Professor Abdullahi Shehu Maaji; the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Senate President, Professor Muhammad Ibn Abdallah; and the Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Hajiya Yardada Maikano Bichi.

The scholarship initiative, implemented through the Barau Ibrahim Jibrin Foundation (BIJF), has provided thousands of students with opportunities to pursue higher education in Nigeria and abroad. Currently, 70 beneficiaries are undertaking postgraduate studies overseas.
Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Senator Barau expressed appreciation to the FUDMA management, led by Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Aminu Ado, for their support in implementing the programme.
In recognition of his contributions to education and youth development, the National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS), FUDMA Chapter, honoured Senator Barau with an award of excellence.
