Adamawa State’s Governor, the Right Honourable Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has taken decisive action to address the escalating menace posed by hoodlums in the state capital. To protect the safety and security of its residents, a 24-hour curfew has been declared, beginning immediately on Sunday, 30th July, 2023.
The decision to impose the curfew stems from the alarming increase in the audacious activities of these hoodlums, who have been wreaking havoc across the state capital. They have been assaulting innocent people, vandalizing businesses, and unlawfully entering homes to steal property.
As communicated by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, this curfew entails a complete restriction on movement throughout the state. Only individuals engaged in essential duties and possessing valid identification will be allowed to travel during this curfew period.
Governor Fintiri earnestly appeals to all citizens and residents to cooperate fully with this directive. Compliance is crucial to maintaining order and ensuring the safety of everyone. Any individual found contravening the curfew order will be promptly arrested and held accountable before the law.
By implementing this 24-hour curfew, Governor Fintiri aims to curb the activities of these unruly elements and restore peace and security to the state. It is a collective effort that requires the cooperation and support of all residents to achieve lasting results.
