The House of Representatives has decided to dissolve the current ad-hoc Joint Downstream and Midstream Committee. This committee was originally set up to investigate several pressing issues, including the importation of adulterated petroleum products and the lack of crude oil for domestic refineries.
In a statement House Spokesman Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr. said a new ad-hoc committee will be established with the same mandate to ensure the thorough investigation of these critical energy security concerns. The new committee will be composed of members selected for their expertise, competence, and integrity, ensuring a more effective and independent investigation.
The House is committed to addressing these vital issues with rigorous oversight. Additional details about the operations of the new committee will be provided in due course
