House of Reps open floor to public on marine corps bill

The House of Representatives, led by the Yusuf Adamu Gagdi-chaired Committee on Navy, has invited the public, maritime stakeholders, and other interested parties to a public hearing on the proposed Nigerian Marine Corps Establishment Bill 2023 (HB. 225).
In a statement, Spokesman, House of Representatives Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr. said this hearing, scheduled for Monday, November 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Temporary Chamber of the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, aligns with the House’s Open Parliament Legislative Agenda, emphasizing transparent and inclusive governance.

The bill seeks to establish the Nigerian Marine Corps to bolster maritime security, a crucial national concern. Stakeholders and the public will have the opportunity to weigh in on its provisions and offer recommendations for legislative action.

Under the leadership of Speaker Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, the 10th House reaffirms its commitment to engaging citizens in shaping impactful policies.
