The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has received the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, on a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, in a move aimed at reinforcing strategic collaboration on regional security and public safety.

The visit underscored the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to sustaining strong institutional partnerships with state governments to enhance national security and effective policing.

Governor Kefas was accompanied by a high-powered delegation, including Senator Shuaibu Lau (Taraba North), Senator David Jimkuta (Taraba South) and Senator Haruna Manu (Taraba Central). Members of the House of Representatives on the delegation included Honourable Abdullahi Mohammed Lauwa, Honourable David Abel and Honourable Ayuba Zaku, alongside other lawmakers, as well as the Taraba State Commissioners for Justice, Information and Finance.

In his remarks, the governor commended the leadership of the IGP and lauded the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force in restoring relative peace to Karim Lamido, recently designated by the state government as a Special Area of Security Concern. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing enhanced logistical support to the Taraba State Police Command to ensure personnel are well-equipped for optimal operational performance.

Responding, IGP Egbetokun described the visit as an important step toward deepening strategic synergy necessary for effective, community-oriented policing.
