The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, has received the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, on a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening security on the institution’s campus.
Professor Fawehinmi said the visit provided an opportunity for the University to review its existing security architecture and adopt a more proactive approach to campus safety. He assured that the University Management would work closely with the Nigeria Police Force to guarantee a safe and conducive learning environment for students, staff and visitors.

In his remarks, CP Dantawaye said the visit was part of his command’s ongoing tour of tertiary institutions across the FCT, designed to enhance campus security and deepen collaboration with university authorities. He reaffirmed the Police’s commitment to protecting lives and property within and around educational institutions.
The Commissioner later conducted an inspection of key security posts on the campus, accompanied by the University’s Chief Safety Officer, Wing Commander Cerrone Doko Waziri (retd.), as part of efforts to assess existing security measures and identify areas for improvement.
