In a decisive move, Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has ordered a full-scale investigation into allegations of bribery and corruption within the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
The Minister, denouncing the alleged misconduct, emphasized that the Ministry maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline and corruption across its paramilitary agencies.
“The Ministry will not compromise its core values of integrity, transparency, and accountability,” said Tunji-Ojo. “We will thoroughly address any breaches and ensure those responsible face the full consequences of their actions.”
A special investigative team, led by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, has been tasked with probing the allegations and submitting a detailed report. The Minister assured the public that the investigation would be rigorous and impartial, with appropriate disciplinary actions to follow for any personnel found guilty.
