Amnesty International has raised alarm over the disappearance of the medical file of Muhammed Liman, a victim of police brutality, from the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. Liman’s treatment has reportedly been stalled for three weeks since the organization released a report on the killing of 24 protesters during the #EndBadGovernance demonstrations.
On the protest’s first day, Liman and his friends were at A.A. Kime Filling Station, Bolori Junction, Maiduguri, when security personnel, intent on suppressing protests, allegedly threw a hand grenade at them, killing three of his friends.
Liman suffered a life-threatening spinal cord injury but has been unable to access continued care due to the missing file. Amnesty reports his condition is worsening, leaving his family desperate and without options.
The organization has called for immediate action to address the disappearance and ensure Liman receives the urgent medical attention he needs.
