The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has alerted the public to the circulation of fraudulent messages falsely claiming that recruitment has commenced for the 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC).
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the NAF categorically stated that no such recruitment exercise is currently underway and advised the public to disregard the misleading information.
The Air Force reiterated that its recruitment and enlistment processes are completely free, transparent, and strictly merit-based. It neither demands payment at any stage nor engages third-party agents for recruitment purposes.
“Any genuine recruitment exercise will be formally announced and widely publicised through national newspapers, the official NAF website, and verified social media platforms,” the statement read.
