NAFDAC, ACPN partner to curb fake drugs in Enugu

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has called on the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Enugu State Chapter, to collaborate in the fight against substandard and falsified medicines.

South-East Zonal Director of NAFDAC, Dr. Festus Ukadike, made the appeal during a meeting with pharmacists in Enugu, stressing that community pharmacists play a vital role in safeguarding public health. He urged them to work closely with the agency to ensure only safe, quality, and effective medicines are made available to Nigerians.

Responding, ACPN Enugu Chairman, Mr. Kenneth Amafidegbe, pledged the association’s full support for NAFDAC’s regulatory efforts.

The State Coordinator, Mr. Collins Ogedegbe, also reminded pharmacists of the legal obligation to properly register all regulated products and encouraged strict compliance with NAFDAC standards.
