The Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Binta Adamu Bello, has called for stronger partnerships among stakeholders to curb the rising cases of human trafficking and violence against persons in Nigeria.
Bello made the call in Abuja while receiving the Ambassador of Switzerland to Nigeria, Patrick Egloff, and other embassy officials during a courtesy visit to the Agency’s headquarters.

She commended the Swiss Government for its longstanding collaboration with Nigeria, particularly in supporting the implementation of the National Action Plan on Human Trafficking (2022–2026) and the “Policy to Action” project funded by Switzerland.
In his remarks, Ambassador Egloff reaffirmed Switzerland’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s counter-trafficking efforts, stressing that human trafficking remains a global challenge that requires collective action.
Discussions during the meeting also focused on the forthcoming migration dialogue between Nigeria and Switzerland, scheduled to hold in Abuja in November 2025, with the participation of key stakeholders.
