In a powerful demonstration of its commitment to public safety and the rule of law, the Nigeria Police Force, led by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has made significant strides in tackling high-profile criminal activities across the country.
In a statement Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said over the past month, the force arrested 2,726 suspects involved in various heinous crimes, recovered 150 firearms and 1,788 rounds of ammunition, and successfully rescued 207 kidnapped victims.
Among the high-profile cases was the apprehension of Hauwa Yusuf, a 30-year-old woman from Dutsin-Ma LGA of Katsina State. Yusuf was intercepted along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway while transporting an AK-47 rifle and four AK magazines concealed in a sack of garri. During interrogation, she confessed to being an arms courier for a notorious bandit terrorizing Katsina State.

The parade of suspects, who confessed to crimes ranging from armed robbery to kidnapping, underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s relentless efforts to combat crime and ensure justice is served. This operation is a clear signal to criminal elements that their activities will not be tolerated.
IGP Egbetokun reiterated the force’s unwavering dedication to protecting the lives and property of Nigerian citizens, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
