The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation has commended the Super Eagles for their performance and commitment, assuring the national team of the country’s continued pride and support despite their exit from the tournament.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, fnipr, praised the players for representing Nigeria with dignity, resilience and a strong sense of national pride. He noted that while football is often defined by results, the character, unity and determination displayed by the team throughout the competition resonated deeply with Nigerians at home and abroad.
According to the minister, the Super Eagles’ effort and fighting spirit reflected the true essence of wearing the national colours, symbolising courage, teamwork and perseverance even in the face of disappointment.
He urged the players to remain united, draw lessons from the experience and return stronger in future competitions, stressing that their performances had brought joy and hope to millions of Nigerians during the tournament.
“The nation remains proud of you,” the minister said, reaffirming that Nigeria stands firmly with the Super Eagles and appreciates their dedication and service to the country.
