- CoAS, others pay tribute to his legacy
The Nigerian Army on Thursday, October 10, 2024 held a solemn farewell ceremony for the late Major General Seidu Inaboya Musa at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja.
According to Director, Army Public Relations Major General Onyema Nwachukwu the event, attended by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, alongside senior officers, colleagues, and family, honored the late General’s outstanding service to the nation.
In his tribute, General Lagbaja praised Major General Musa’s invaluable contributions to the military legal system, noting that his dedication and service would remain an integral part of the Nigerian Army’s legacy. The Chief of Administration (Army), Major General Ohwohigho Akpor, also lauded the late officer during a funeral service at All Saints Military Protestant Church, describing him as a brilliant, resourceful, and moral leader who had a profound impact on the Directorate of Army Legal Services.
General Akpor highlighted the late General’s efforts in training personnel for the legal directorate and providing expert guidance on military legal matters, adding that his legacy of service and leadership would endure.
The burial ceremony included the presentation of the national flag to the late officer’s next of kin by the COAS, represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim. The traditional firing of volleys and laying of wreaths also took place in his honor.
Born on May 4, 1968, in Okpella, Edo State, Major General Musa was commissioned into the Nigerian Army on September 25, 1993, and rose to the rank of Major General. Until his death on September 23, 2024, he served as the Director of Legal Services (Army).
The interment was attended by senior military officials, retired officers, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN), and other prominent figures from the legal community, along with family and friends.
