The Nigerian Army has opened applications for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027, inviting qualified Nigerians and serving military personnel to apply for commission as officers.
The recruitment is open to eligible civilians and serving military personnel who meet the stipulated requirements. Successful candidates will undergo training and, upon commissioning, serve in the Army’s Combat Arms, including the Infantry and Armour Corps, as well as Combat Support Arms comprising the Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence Corps.
The Army directed prospective applicants to access the official recruitment portal, nashortservice.army.mil.ng, select the SSCC option and follow the application instructions carefully.
The Army warned members of the public against fraudulent recruitment portals and announcements, urging applicants to disregard any recruitment information purportedly released before the official publication.
It advised prospective applicants to rely exclusively on information issued through official Nigerian Army channels and to watch for authorised recruitment jingles on television and radio stations following the announcement.
The application deadline is Saturday, October 17, 2026.
