Nigerian Navy foils fuel smuggling, dismantles illegal refinery in Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa

In a coordinated effort under Operation DELTA SANITY, Forward Operating Base IBAKA intercepted a wooden boat loaded with drums of illegally refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) concealed among building materials and household items, destined for the Republic of Cameroon.

Two suspects were arrested and are being detained for transfer to the relevant authorities in Akwa Ibom State.

On the same day, the Nigerian Navy Ship SOROH dismantled an illegal refining site in the Okobutu Axis, Brass LGA, seizing large quantities of stolen crude oil and illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).

Furthermore, a building stocked with sacs of illegally refined AGO was uncovered by a patrol team in the Ekeme community, Bayelsa State.
