Nigerian Navy hosts Church service to mark 69th anniversary

The Nigerian Navy on Sunday, 25 May 2025, held an interdenominational church service to commemorate its 69th anniversary. The event, held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Navy Town, Ojo, Lagos State, brought together senior naval officers, personnel, their families, and invited guests in a spirit of unity and thanksgiving.

In his address, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to tackling national security challenges. He emphasized ongoing investments in capacity building through enhanced training, acquisition of modern platforms, and improved welfare for personnel.

Vice Admiral Ogalla also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, for his continued support of the Nigerian Navy.

The service featured praise, worship, and prayers for the safety and success of naval personnel. It also provided an opportunity for reflection on the Navy’s achievements over the years and its strategic direction for the future.
