The Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology (NNSAT) in Kachia on Monday, August 12, 2024 welcomed a delegation from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, for a comprehensive study tour. The delegation, comprising 24 staff officers and 432 students from Junior Course 98, was led by the Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies at AFCSC, Rear Admiral Aniefiok Cletus Uko.
The visiting students represented a diverse group, including 173 from the Nigerian Army, 141 from the Nigerian Navy, 108 from the Nigerian Air Force, and 5 international participants from Ghana, Cameroon, and Guinea. Additionally, 5 participants were from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), including the Defence Intelligence Agency and the Defence Space Agency.
The purpose of the study tour was to provide the junior officers and MDA officials with hands-on exposure to the Nigerian Navy’s armament systems, weapons, and equipment. The initiative aimed to enhance their understanding of security challenges and foster a holistic approach to collaboration between the Armed Forces and other security agencies.
NNSAT Commandant, Commodore Henry Aruomaren, hosted the delegation, emphasizing the importance of such educational exchanges in preparing officers for higher command roles. The tour aligns with AFCSC’s mission to equip military officers with the strategic, operational, and tactical knowledge necessary for effective decision-making.
Notable attendees included Brigadier General Nicholas Rume, Director of the Department of Joint Studies at AFCSC, Brigadier General Charles Zebere, Deputy Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Artillery, as well as chief instructors, directing staff, and other senior officers of NNSAT.
