The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has praised the Oyo State Command for its strong commitment to grassroots security, describing it as a model of effective community partnership under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Audi gave the commendation after a community engagement hosted by the Ibadan West Division, where traditional rulers, artisans, and local security groups donated furniture, ICT tools, and operational equipment to boost the division’s capacity.

He lauded State Commandant, CC Augustine Padonu, for embedding people-centred strategies into security operations, and Divisional Officer, SC Sakirat Adekojo Abdulrasheed, for mobilizing community support that has enhanced trust and effectiveness.
The NSCDC boss noted that his policy of positioning visionary officers across the country is paying off, citing Oyo as a clear example of how security agencies and communities can jointly safeguard lives and property.
“Security at the grassroots is the bedrock of national peace, and the Corps will continue to deepen partnerships that defend the defenceless and protect critical assets,” he assured.
