The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has commenced the establishment of a state-of-the-art Counter-Terrorism Communication Command and Control Centre (CT-C4) at its National Headquarters in Abuja. The initiative aims to bolster efforts in combating insecurity across the country.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo lauded the leadership of NSCDC Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Audi, describing the project as timely and essential for addressing the threat posed by terrorists, criminal elements, and other non-state actors. The Minister pledged unwavering support for the project.
The Secretary of the Civil Defence, Immigration, Fire Service, and Correctional Service Board, Ja’faru Ahmed, urged the Corps’ management to prioritize the timely completion of the facility, emphasizing its importance to national security.
Represented by Deputy Commandant General Ibrahim Ningi, the NSCDC Commandant General highlighted that the CT-C4 aligns with the Corps’ strategic objectives to deploy advanced technology in securing lives, property, and critical infrastructure. “This center will be a hub for communication, coordination, and intelligence sharing, enabling rapid response and precision in counter-terrorism operations,” he stated.
The project has also garnered support from key partners, including Benedict Aliku, CEO of Equipping the Needy, alongside Judd Saul, Mark Danner, and Steve Fisher, who pledged to facilitate its swift completion as a boost to the nation’s security architecture.
The initiative underscores the NSCDC’s commitment to leveraging technology in achieving a safer and more secure Nigeria.
