The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in collaboration with the international NGO Search for Common Ground, has organized a five-day capacity-building program on conflict resolution and security response for senior officers.
Held at Sandralia Hotel, Abuja, the training focused on the “Common Ground Approach and Early Warning and Early Response to Conflict,” equipping officers with strategies to tackle Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
Declaring the program open, NSCDC Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Audi emphasized the importance of continuous training to enhance professionalism and efficiency.

He highlighted the need for greater synergy among security agencies, noting that improved collaboration has begun yielding positive results.
“We must strengthen coordination and cooperation among security forces to effectively combat insurgency, banditry, and militancy across the country,” Audi stated.
Representing Search for Common Ground’s Country Director, Director of Programmes Gift Owonipa commended NSCDC’s commitment to safeguarding lives and infrastructure. She noted that the training aims to enhance early warning systems and conflict response, fostering a more stable and peaceful Nigeria.
