Police arrests suspects for armed robbery, drug trafficking, and vehicle theft in FCT

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has recorded a series of operational breakthroughs following coordinated intelligence-led operations targeting criminal elements involved in armed robbery, drug trafficking, and vehicle theft across Abuja.

In a statement Police Public Relations Officer FCT Police Command, Abuja SP Josephine Adeh said the operations, carried out between October 9 and 18, 2025, were conducted by the Command’s Scorpion Squad, Kubwa Division, Life Camp Division, and Mabushi Division as part of ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the FCT.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, operatives arrested several suspects linked to violent crimes, including Manaseh Emmanuel (36), Dogora Ibrahim (21), and Ibrahim Idamusa (40) — members of a notorious armed robbery gang led by Ibrahim Yakubu, a.k.a. “Ycome”, currently remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre.

Similarly, officers from the Life Camp Division arrested Umar Abubakar, Iliyasu Ibrahim, Usman Ibrahim, and Alkasim Abubakar for theft. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects belong to a ten-man syndicate responsible for multiple armed robberies across Kubwa, Life Camp, and Mpape areas of the capital.

In another operation, Mabushi Police Division apprehended Bello Mohammed Tambuwal for stealing a 2019 Toyota Corolla, while Paul Onogwu was arrested in possession of 15 bags of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.

Exhibits recovered during the operations include:

  • One (1) cutlass

  • One (1) sword

  • One (1) jackknife

  • One (1) Toyota Land Cruiser (stolen during an armed robbery)

  • One (1) black Toyota Corolla (2019 model), Chassis No: JTNK4RBE1K3054902

  • One (1) Toyota Camry, Registration No: KRD 391 JF

  • Fifteen (15) bags of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa

Commending the officers for their professionalism and commitment, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dantawaye Miller, psc, charged all Divisional Police Officers to intensify their operations and sustain pressure on criminal elements across the FCT.

He reiterated the Command’s resolve to maintain a relentless crackdown on crime until every hideout is dismantled and Abuja is fully secured.
