The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing digital policing and strengthening collaboration in the fight against cybercrime following a visit by the leadership of the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) to its headquarters in Abuja.
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja. DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the NECA delegation, led by its Director-General, Mr. Wale-Smatt Oyerinde, visited the Centre as part of ongoing engagements with the Nigeria Police Force aimed at enhancing cooperation on cybersecurity and digital safety initiatives.
During the visit, the delegation toured the facility, observed its operations and engaged officials of the Centre on areas of possible collaboration to improve Nigeria’s cybercrime response framework.
Members of the delegation commended the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, as well as officers and personnel of the NPF-NCCC for their professionalism, dedication and operational capacity in tackling cyber-related crimes.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Director of the NPF-NCCC, CP Akaninyene Ezima, said the Nigeria Police Force was taking proactive steps to strengthen digital policing and build a modern cybercrime response system.
Ezima expressed appreciation to the NECA delegation for the visit and welcomed the association’s readiness to support the Centre’s activities and initiatives.
The police authorities reiterated their commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s digital space and assured Nigerians that the NPF-NCCC would continue to evolve, collaborate with relevant stakeholders and lead efforts to combat cybercrime across the country.
