The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has refuted claims circulating on social media and other platforms about an alleged ongoing recruitment exercise, describing the information as false, misleading, and capable of deceiving unsuspecting members of the public.
In a statement on Monday, the Force clarified that no recruitment process is currently underway within the Police. It warned Nigerians to exercise caution and avoid falling victim to fraudsters who exploit false announcements to extort money and personal details from job seekers.
“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to state categorically that there is no recruitment exercise taking place at this time. Members of the public are strongly advised to disregard any such information,” the statement read.
The NPF emphasized the importance of verifying all recruitment-related information through its official communication channels, including the Force’s website and verified social media handles. It further assured the public that any future recruitment exercise would be formally announced and widely publicized through these legitimate platforms.
The Police also urged Nigerians to remain vigilant against fake websites, unauthorized notices, and individuals parading as recruitment agents, stressing that genuine Police recruitment processes are transparent, free of charge, and strictly handled by the Force.
“The Nigeria Police Force reiterates that for accurate and verified information, citizens should always rely on its official website and verified social media platforms. The public is hereby cautioned not to fall prey to fraudulent schemes,” the statement added.
The NPF reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and professionalism in its operations, assuring that due process will always be followed in matters of recruitment and public engagement.
