The Nigeria Police Force has recorded significant breakthroughs in its ongoing operations against violent crime, with successful rescue missions and arrests in Enugu and Ogun States.

According to Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in Enugu State on July 16, operatives neutralised a kidnap suspect and recovered an AK-47 rifle during a coordinated raid. The operation also led to the arrest of a notorious kidnapper, Aliyu Adamu, and two female accomplices who were caught while sharing a ₦10 million ransom — part of a ₦50 million initially demanded from their own relative. The victim was rescued unharmed.

Between July 16 and 20 in Ogun State, three kidnap victims were rescued safely. Two suspects were neutralised, and police recovered one AK-47 rifle, 139 rounds of ammunition, ₦1.2 million in ransom money, mobile phones, and chains used to restrain the captives.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended the operatives for their professionalism and reiterated the Force’s commitment to adopting technology-driven, intelligence-led strategies in dismantling criminal networks nationwide.
