Police officers from Kwara command reported to FHQ for misconduct incident

Some police officers from the Kwara State Command have presented themselves at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, alongside their commanding officer, to address an incident of police misconduct. The incident, which involved the officers physically assaulting a member of the public, was widely circulated in a viral video.

The Force Headquarters, in a statement posted on their social media page, expressed strong disapproval of such behavior, which is deemed unacceptable and contrary to the fundamental principles of the police force. As a consequence, the officers involved have been referred to the Force Provost Marshal for disciplinary proceedings.

The statement reads, “In response to the recent incident involving officers from the Kwara State Police Command, captured on video assaulting a member of the public, we have taken decisive action. The officers in question, together with their commanding officer, have voluntarily reported to the Force Headquarters in Abuja. They will now face disciplinary actions under the purview of the Force Provost Marshal. Our unwavering commitment remains firmly rooted in upholding the highest standards of professionalism and accountability within the Force.”
