Ogun State Police Command neutralized kidnappers of Mrs. Odumosu, wife of Retired AIG Hakeem Odumosu, and rescued her unharmed during a raid on their den in Ikorodu on January 23, 2025.
In a statement released by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, it was revealed that Mrs. Odumosu was abducted by four masked gunmen on January 16, 2025, from her residence in Arepo.
Following the abduction, Ogun State Police Command, with support from Force Headquarters, launched an investigation. Through extensive surveillance, the police identified the kidnappers’ hideout in a creek within the Ikorodu swampy area.
During the early morning raid on January 23, a gun battle ensued, resulting in the neutralization of two kidnappers. Four others escaped, leaving behind 4 Ak-47 rifles, 3 locally made rifles, ammunition, and N10,000,000 in ransom money. Mrs. Odumosu was rescued unharmed and is currently under medical observation.
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the Ogun State Police Command for their successful operation.
