President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the widespread devastation caused by recent floods that have impacted communities and farmlands across Nigeria. According to data from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the floods have resulted in the loss of lives, the destruction of thousands of hectares of farmland, and the displacement of numerous people.
In a statement, President Tinubu conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by the disaster, particularly bereaved families, displaced communities, farmers, and individuals who have lost property. He emphasized the importance of a unified effort to tackle environmental challenges and build a more climate-resilient society.
The President also prayed for the souls of those who lost their lives in the floods and assured the nation that his administration, through relevant agencies, would continue to provide necessary support to victims and issue timely warnings to help mitigate the impact of future environmental disasters.
