Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin and Church address NAFDAC investigation allegations

Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, Senior Prophet of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, and the church have responded to allegations made in a recent news report regarding ongoing investigations by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

Through a press release issued on Mercyland Television, the church addressed the publication by Punch Newspaper, which claimed that NAFDAC is investigating the church’s use of miracle water and soap.

The church clarified that the narrative presented by Punch does not accurately represent its dealings with NAFDAC. It emphasized that Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry is a law-abiding organization guided by the principles of freedom of religion, as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution. According to the statement, the only pending petition against the church originates from Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkblackman, who the church has sued for alleged forgery and other matters.

The church noted that it has been cooperating with NAFDAC, having attended a meeting at the agency’s Asaba office on September 2, 2024, contrary to the claims that the church was not cooperating. Church representatives provided statements and agreed to continue the dialogue with NAFDAC as the investigation proceeds.

Furthermore, the church accused Punch Newspaper of unethical journalism by publishing a one-sided story without seeking the church’s response. It urged the public to disregard the reports as baseless and assured that Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry remains committed to its spiritual mission and legal obligations.

Sophia Lloyd, speaking on behalf of Mercy Television, reiterated the church’s commitment to its constitutional right to religious freedom and expressed disappointment in the media for spreading what they termed misleading narratives. The church assured the public that it will continue to engage with NAFDAC to resolve the issues at hand.
