Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has distributed 4,691 bags of fertiliser to teachers in primary, secondary and Tsangaya schools across 13 local government areas of Kano North Senatorial District.
The distribution, held at the Sharada Industrial Area in Kano, is part of the lawmaker’s effort to support the Federal Government’s drive toward food sufficiency.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Professor Muhammad Ibn Abdallah, Senator Barau said the initiative was aimed at empowering teachers in recognition of their vital role in nation-building.
“Recently, we distributed over 40,000 bags of fertiliser to farmers across Kano State. Today, we are extending this intervention to clerics, Tsangaya teachers, principals of secondary schools, and headmasters of primary schools,” he said.
According to him, 661 bags were allocated to Tsangaya teachers, 221 to junior secondary teachers, 392 to senior secondary teachers, and 227 to primary school teachers, with the remainder shared among other groups.
Chairman of the Headmasters Association, Musa Auwalu Gwarzo, commended the initiative, describing Senator Barau as “a leader for all.”
