Troops of 3 Division and the Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace (JTF OPEP) have recovered arms and ammunition during a raid on the hideout of a notorious gunrunner in Kurra Berom Village, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The intelligence-led operation, carried out in the early hours of September 15, 2025, yielded the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, two AK-47 magazines, and 38 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition.
According to Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer of JTF OPEP, the criminals escaped before the troops arrived. However, he assured that efforts are ongoing to track down the suspects.
The task force reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against criminal activities to enhance national security across its joint operations area.
