The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned maintenance exercise on the 60MVA 132/33kV transformer at the Effurun Transmission Substation. The maintenance operation is scheduled to take place on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
According to TCN, the six-hour outage is necessary to allow its technical team to carry out annual preventive maintenance on Transformer T21 and its associated switchgears. This maintenance is part of the company’s routine efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of power transmission infrastructure.
As a result of the scheduled work, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) will temporarily interrupt electricity supply to customers served by the Effurun, PTI, Enerhen, and Sapele 33kV feeders. Affected residents and businesses in these areas are advised to make necessary arrangements to mitigate any inconvenience the outage may cause.
TCN has assured the public that its engineers will work diligently to complete the maintenance exercise within the stipulated time and restore normal power supply as quickly as possible. The company further emphasized the importance of periodic maintenance in ensuring the stability of the national power grid.
“We regret any inconvenience this temporary outage may cause and appreciate the patience and understanding of the affected communities as we carry out this critical maintenance,” said Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs, TCN.
Customers seeking further information or updates are encouraged to contact BEDC or TCN’s customer service channels.
