President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to implementing crucial economic reforms aimed at fostering business growth and creating investment opportunities to support Nigeria’s burgeoning population.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu made this declaration while hosting a delegation from the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) led by Florizelle Liser, the President and Chief Executive Officer of CCA, in Abuja on Thursday.
He praised the recent installation of a 45,000-kilometer submarine fiber optic cable in Akwa Ibom State, which provides connectivity for the entire South-South region of Nigeria with Europe and other parts of Africa via the Atlantic Ocean. He underscored the importance of this milestone, emphasizing that with the right policies, partnerships, and determination, Nigeria can overcome longstanding developmental challenges.
Drawing from his extensive experience in corporate governance and past interactions with CCA during his tenure as the two-term governor of Lagos State, President Tinubu expressed satisfaction with CCA’s commitment to facilitating business connections between the United States and Africa. He affirmed his administration’s resolve to press ahead with reforms, despite facing challenges, stating, “We are challenged, and we believe we will overcome the challenges.”
President Tinubu emphasized his commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, with a particular focus on investing in key sectors such as agriculture, solid minerals, energy, health, infrastructure, trade, financial services, digital enterprise, and the creative economy. He stressed the importance of education in combating poverty and welcomed partnerships like CCA to achieve mutual goals.
In response, Ms. Liser expressed CCA’s dedication to supporting Nigeria’s economic growth across the eight priority areas outlined by President Tinubu’s administration. She extended an invitation to President Tinubu to participate in CCA’s US-Africa Business Summit in May in Dallas, Texas, and urged him to consider CCA as a partner in enhancing trade, business, and investment between the USA and Nigeria.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, reiterated President Tinubu’s commitment to driving economic reforms and fostering investment opportunities that will contribute to the welfare and prosperity of Nigerian citizens.
