Tinubu commends Dangote Group for reducing diesel prices at gantries

In a recent development, President Bola Tinubu has praised the initiative of Dangote Oil and Gas Limited for its reduction in the gantry price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel. The group has significantly lowered the gantry price of AGO from N1,650 to N1,000 per litre for purchases of a minimum of one million litres. Additionally, it has introduced a discount of N30 per litre for purchases exceeding five million litres.

This reduction, amounting to a substantial 60 percent decrease, is expected to have a significant impact on the prices of various goods and services. President Tinubu underscored the importance of such initiatives in bolstering the nation’s economy and enhancing the welfare of its citizens.

Highlighting the strategic partnership between the federal government and Dangote Refinery, where the government holds a 20 percent stake, Tinubu emphasized the significance of collaboration between public and private entities in driving economic growth and development.

Speaking through Chief Ajuri Ngelale, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, President Tinubu urged Nigerians and businesses to prioritize the nation’s interests, assuring them of a conducive and secure environment for growth and prosperity.

This commendation from the presidency underscores the importance of private sector initiatives in complementing government efforts towards economic development and improving the lives of citizens.
