Tinubu hails rescue of 100 Students, orders security agencies to free remaining captives

President Bola Tinubu has applauded Nigeria’s security agencies for securing the release of 100 students abducted from Papiri Catholic School in Niger State, following the November 21 attack.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed joy over the students’ safe return and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rescuing the remaining 115 students and their teachers still held by kidnappers.

Tinubu assured anxious parents that the Federal Government is working closely with the Niger State Government to ensure the safe return of all abducted students.

“I rejoice with Governor Umar Bago and commend our security agencies for their steadfast work in ensuring the safe return of the students to their families,” he said.

He reiterated his directive to security forces to rescue every abducted Nigerian, stressing that the government “must account for all the victims.”

The President also emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between security agencies and state governments to prevent further school abductions, insisting that children must no longer be “sitting ducks for heartless terrorists.”

Tinubu pledged continued efforts to make schools safer and learning environments more secure for Nigerian children.
