President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a reflection of his visionary leadership and commitment to good governance.
In a statement issued on Sunday, President Tinubu noted that Soludo’s “overwhelming victory” in Saturday’s poll makes him the third governor in Anambra’s political history to secure a second term in office.
The President commended the people of Anambra State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and credible election process.
“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress Anambra has made under his guidance,” Tinubu said, adding that the governor has demonstrated how “knowledge, accountability, and transparency can transform governance.”
Recalling his visit to Anambra in May, where he inaugurated key infrastructure projects executed by the Soludo administration, the President praised the governor’s “discipline, grace, and brilliance,” noting that Anambra is “living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation.”
President Tinubu urged Governor Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to seek collaboration with his opponents in the interest of the state’s development.
He further assured the governor of the Federal Government’s continued partnership with Anambra to deliver sustainable growth and prosperity for its citizens.
The President also commended INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for what he described as a credible election, urging the Commission to continue improving the electoral process to strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.
“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) again demonstrates the vitality of our political system and the fact that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be denied,” Tinubu stated.
