President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain united and resilient in the face of economic and security challenges, as he extended Easter greetings to citizens at home and in the diaspora.
In his 2026 Easter message released by the State House, the President highlighted the significance of the Christian celebration, noting that it symbolises sacrifice, redemption, and the triumph of hope over adversity.
He acknowledged the prevailing economic pressures and security concerns across parts of the country, while assuring that his administration is intensifying efforts to address the challenges through increased resource allocation, strengthened security operations, and international partnerships.
The President commended members of the Armed Forces for their sacrifices in combating insecurity, stating that ongoing operations are yielding progress in tackling terrorism and banditry.
Tinubu also referenced his recent visit to Jos, where he commiserated with victims of violence in Plateau State and reassured residents of improved security outcomes. He noted that security chiefs have provided assurances of tangible progress, supported by collaboration with international partners.
Reiterating the importance of national unity, the President stressed that sustainable development cannot be achieved in an atmosphere of fear and instability. He urged citizens to support lawful efforts to maintain peace and reject actions that threaten collective well-being.
On the economy, Tinubu described ongoing reforms as necessary, though challenging, measures designed to achieve long-term prosperity. He emphasised that meaningful transformation requires sacrifice and patience, expressing confidence that current policies are beginning to yield positive indicators.
