Tragic loss as renowned journalist succumbs to cardiac arrest at National Assembly premises

In a somber turn of events on Wednesday, Tijani Adeyemi, the esteemed Senate correspondent of the Tribune Newspaper, tragically succumbed to cardiac arrest while within the precincts of the National Assembly.

The sequence of events unfolded when Mr. Adeyemi boarded one of the National Assembly’s shuttle buses at the main entrance, referred to as the Mopol Gate, at 10 a.m. Upon reaching the checkpoint, it was discovered that he had become unresponsive.

Efforts to revive him proved futile, leading to his pronouncement of death upon arrival at the clinic of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Subsequently, Mr. Adeyemi’s mortal remains were held at the National Assembly’s clinic pending arrangements for transportation and interment, following the official confirmation of his passing by medical professionals.

In accordance with Islamic traditions, Mr. Adeyemi was laid to rest at the Gudu Cemetery, marking a poignant farewell to a respected journalist who had contributed significantly to the Senate correspondence field.
