In a significant breakthrough, troops of 1 Brigade, Sector 2 of Operation Hadarin Daji under Operation Fansan Yamma, apprehended a 25-year-old ammunition courier, Shamsiyya Ahadu, and her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordinating Centre for Operation Fansan Yamma said the operation, carried out on December 28, 2024, uncovered 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines intended for delivery to the notorious terrorist kingpin, Bello Turji.
He added that the arrest followed a credible intelligence report regarding the movement of terrorist logistics along the road from Kware to Badarawa. Acting swiftly, the troops established a roadblock, intercepting the suspects and averting the delivery of the dangerous cache to the terrorist camp.
Shamsiyya Ahadu and Ahmed Husaini, a motorcycle rider who aided in the transportation, are currently under investigation by appropriate authorities. Their arrest underscores the unwavering commitment of Operation Fansan Yamma to dismantle terrorist networks and curb the illegal movement of arms and ammunition within its operational theater.
